Striking the spark of progress

RESOLVE Partners, Cabinet members and staff gathered on May 14, 2014 at the Avison Young Club to celebrate the Campaign’s progress thus far and to inspire continued momentum in the drive to raise money for homes for 3,000 vulnerable and homeless individuals.

The “Striking the Spark” event showed what a truly collaborative effort RESOLVE is and how each person plays an important part in the success of the Campaign. Despite different mandates and backgrounds, everyone came together with the common goal of raising $120 million to help end homelessness.

The distinctiveness and variety of each Partners’ projects was on display around the room, each unique in its own way and serving many distinct groups including seniors, the physically challenged, families and those returning to community from corrections.

With great food and service, thanks to Avison Young Club staff, the room heard impassioned speeches from Cabinet Chair Alan Norris, Steering Committee Chair Kim O’Brien and RESOLVE Executive Director Sheryl Barlage.

The presentation ended with the release of RESOLVE’s “We Believe” video – which illustrates why those involved in the Campaign have come together in collaboration. The video can be seen here.

Thanks to all who helped “strike the spark” to make Calgary a better home for everyone.
