November 27, 2015 Focus on homes, rather than shelters, means happier holidays for 29 homeless families The Hope for the Holidays Campaign, is a collaboration of agencies, the provincial government and a residential rental group, spearheaded by the Calgary Homeless Foundation, identified 29 families that have been chronic users of homeless resources in recent years. Rather than use funding to add shelter beds for the winter, the money went toward finding permanent housing for those families, and helping them keep it.
