Residents move into Mustard Seed tower

The first group of residents began moving into The Mustard Seed’s 1010 Centre on March 10, 2014. Located at 10th Avenue and Centre Street SE, the apartment tower will offer housing to 224 low-income and homeless Calgarians, some of whom have been staying in shelters. Six other agencies will refer tenants for the complex. The building is the largest of its kind in North America. The tower features 224 bachelor and one-bedroom suites, a community kitchen, a computer lab to enhance job skills and plenty of wide hallways to encourage socializing with neighbours. Town Hall builds awareness

RESOLVE’s first Town Hall Meeting in November 2013 attracted over 90 attendees, including Cabinet members, representation from all nine of our Partners, and members of the homeless-serving community. The goal was to introduce RESOLVE to community stakeholders and explain how our efforts to build more affordable housing will potentially impact their work.
